How to make sure my kitten still likes car rides after neutering?

Hi there! It's really important that your kitten takes it easy for approximately a week after neutering. Keep his activity as low as possible. The incisions will heal very quickly, assuming we are talking about a male cat. When you take him home your vet will give you detailed instructions to help guide you !

You can ask your vet for pain medications for Powder, and give them as directed. I personally have not run across a cat that has associated hands with a traumatic event, and do not believe it is common at all. Dexter may be craving extra attention! It is unlikely that this behavior was caused by him being neutered. As kittens get older, they become more and more adventurous and brave. Try to find activities for him inside to burn off some of that energy. You can find cat toys that you hide food in that he has to play with to get the food out, feather toys, crunchy sound toys, or balls with bells. He may also enjoy being able to sit in a window to watch the people outside - you can try a cat treehouse/condo or a window perch.

Usually neuter surgeries go without complications although like with any surgeries animals can have complications from being under anesthesia. Hello. Most cats do very well after surgery, so as long as Haiku does not get too active tearing through the house, he can pretty much do his usual routine. There are no special requirements to aid in his healing other than to check the area for anything that looks unusual. He can clean the surgical area & will not harm anything. I would continue his pain medications at least for a day or so to make sure he has a normal recovery. If anything does concern you, contact your veterinarian immediately. It may be stressful for your cat. Why don't try to either postpone the surgery until after your friends stayed at your place, or have it done much earlier. Neutering a tom is not such a big surgery and your vet may be able to fit him in somewhere.
