My kitten ate sausage, is vomiting, and not eating. Is it serious?

Yes I suspect it's the kitten food causing Buddy to have an upset stomach and vomit. Sudden changes in diet can lead to these symptoms. Feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones or skin) in small amounts a couple times a day for a few days, the start slowly adding in his normal diet. If he refuses to eat the bland diet, vomits the bland diet, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, continues to have diarrhea, has blood in his stool, and/or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet immediately. It's now a medical emergency that Bunty hasn't eaten in 18 hours. If she goes much longer without eating, she will develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. She is quite sick and cannot be treated at home. Please take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

Aw poor Simba! I'm sorry to hear he's sick! It would be a good idea to have him checked out by a veterinarian to ensure he does not have an intestinal obstruction, infection, or other cause of vomiting and decreased appetite. He may need injections to stop his vomitng and fluids to rehydrate him. I'm concerned that 4 days of not eating can cause serious illness in a cat so the sooner he sees a veterinarian the better. That is a long time for Kittu to vomit, and I would be concerned he has something serious wrong with him such as a foreign body or pancreatitis causing his vomiting. if he's vomiting whenever he eats, he will not have had any nutrition for four or five days. He needs to see a vet immediately for this problem, please take him into one now. Best of luck!

Poor Sebastian! This vomiting could be caused by a GI illness, pancreatitis, eating something rotten, or a foreign body. Given that he hasn't eaten in 24 hours and is vomiting, a home remedy is not an option for him. Normally, it would be recommended that food is withheld then a bland diet is feb, but Sebastian is vomiting after not eating, so this home remedy would be unproductive and vets recommend a visit to the clinic if vomiting occurs in the absence of food when trying the home remedy. I would take him into a vet now, he should have medical attention. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. It's actually pretty serious when a cat won't eat anything as if they go long enough without eating, they will develop a fatty liver. Because Toby is still vomiting and not eating, it's time to see a vet immediately. Please take him into an ER vet now. If there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Sibby! She is very cute! Fleas usually do not make kittens not eat and vomit. I wouldn't put any flea medication on her until she sees your Vet. Since she is so young and is a cat we do not like them to not eat for more than 2-3 days. It is time to have her seen. Causes of not eating and vomiting in kittens are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, feline leukemia or FIV, feline infectious peritonitis, ate something gross, ate something causing a blockage, food allergy or intolerance. I would bring a stool sample with you to the appointment. I wish Sibby a speedy recovery!
