Cats are considered to be seasonal breeders, most often showing signs of mating behavior in the spring and fall. If not mated (no ovulation), the estrus phase of the cycle will return in one to three weeks, causing another heat.

No, cats do not get a period at all. The come in heat 2-3 times /year. When a cat is in heat she exhibits very loving behavior, becomes very vocal and rolls on the floor. Cats stay in heat until they mate as mating ends the heat (triggered ovulation). You can search videos on line showing cats in heat.
