My dog got crazy after supplement for not eating. Stop giving?

Poor Luna! She may benefit from intravenous fluids. Have you veterinarian check some bloodwork to see if her liver or kidneys were affected. You may also ask your veterinarian if pain medication would be beneficial. Without being able to examine Luna myself, it's difficult to know how best to advise you. If he vomited after gving this, then it is very likely he isn't going to tolerate this medication. I am not sure if you are giving human brand or pet brand, but always give pet formulated joint supplements as these are the proper dosage. Also you should try giving it with food if you haven't done so already. The b vitamins alone would not be expected to cause any significant complications but the picture is not clear enough to read all of the ingredients to fully assess. Given it has been over 4 hours since eaten it has already travelled through the bowel, and is too late for activated charcoal or vomiting to help prevent absorption. If possible try to post a clearer image or link to the brand so we can assess further

This is a multivitamin labeled for people so I would not recommmed giving this to a pet because they require much smaller doses of vitamins than people do. Typically GI upset would ensure if given people vitamins. I would instead recommend a pet formulated multivitamin and only if the pet has a known deficiency or condition that we are treating for. Most high quality dog foods have all the added nutrients already in the food, so supplements are generally not needed. I hope this helps! Take care.

I'm surprised that Moxxi ate a Vitamin C tablet because they are usually very bitter. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin, so we don't need to worry about toxicity, but high levels of Vitamin C can irritate the stomach and cause diarrhea. I would be worried that Moxxi may develop some stomach upset from that level of Vitamin C. It would be worthwhile to contact your veterinarian if she starts vomiting or develops diarrhea. Since she only ate 1 pill, I would not be worried about toxicity. The doses in the vitamins for each of the components should not be harmful. You may see some GI signs such as poor appetite, vomiting or diarrhea, but should resolve. If symptoms continue, I would recommend taking her to your veterinarian.

If it is a ''gummy'' tablet it may cause gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting or diarrhea. The toxicity from the single components (Vitamins, mineral etc etc) depends on their concentration. Generally speaking it should be a major concern as the concentration is quite low. If there is xylitol inside the tablet that may be dangerous, and in case of ingestion, your dog needs to be seen by a veterinarian. The ingestion of xylitol or xylitol-containing products causes a rapid release of the hormone insulin, causing a sudden decrease in the dog's blood glucose. Signs to look for are: lethargy, vomiting, loss of coordination, collapse, and eventually seizures.
