My cat has yellow eye pus daily & face scratches. Should I see a vet?

This is a sign that Merlin's eye is infection. You need to take him into a vet immediately. Any eye problem is an emergency because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. The vet can prescribe medication to treat it. Best of luck.

If she's keeping the eye mostly closed and it's oozing green or yellow discharge, she definitely needs to be seen by a vet - she'll need prescription eye drops to treat the infection. Normally, this shouldn't need to be an expensive visit. Costs will vary depending on where you live and which clinic you go to, but it should just be the exam fee, possibly an eye stain to check for scratches or injuries to the cornea, and then whatever medications the vet prescribes. If cost is a concern, you can call some local clinics in your area to get prices before your visit.

Keep an eye on it and if it does not look better by tomorrow, or if he starts to scratch at it or rub his face, then get him seen by your vet as soon as possible. The worry is that if he starts rubbing or scratching, that he'll injure the eye itself and that will require more intensive treatment than a simple scratch or mild eye infection.

Yes, I would recommend a vet check up. It might just be a skin infection that will benefit from a good clean and possibly antibiotics treatment. It is best that a vet checks it though in case there is anything caught in the paw itself that needs to be removed. Hope this helps !

The eyes may appear sunken in either because Sly is dehydrated or the tissue around the eyes is swollen. Both conditions can point to more serious problems such as infection or abscess caused by a scrape from another cat, which would need to be treated with antibiotics or, in case of an abscess, opened and drained, Please take Sly to a vet for an exam. This could be any number of things such as a flare up of a herpes virus very common in cats, or he has as infection, possibly from a small scratch on his cornea, or even a bit on conjunctivitis. Wil should see his veterinarian to make sure there is nothing more serious with the eye, & usually, with the proper treatments & medications, eyes clear up very nicely.
