My cat is trembling and extra cuddly for three days, what's wrong?

Aw poor Simba! I'm sorry to hear he's sick! It would be a good idea to have him checked out by a veterinarian to ensure he does not have an intestinal obstruction, infection, or other cause of vomiting and decreased appetite. He may need injections to stop his vomitng and fluids to rehydrate him. I'm concerned that 4 days of not eating can cause serious illness in a cat so the sooner he sees a veterinarian the better. Your cat may be chilly, nervous, or the trembling may be a sign of pain. Because Alex is an older cat it is reasonable to assume he has some degree of arthritis. I would recommend taking Alex in to be examined by your veterinarian. He may benefit from a joint supplementation and/or an anti-inflammatory medication. Best of luck. Poor Simba sounds very weak and it does sound like she is ill and in pain. She could have been injured, she could be suffering from a systemic illness, or she could have an infection. Her symptoms are very general, so it's hard for me to narrow down more what could be going on with her without seeing her in person. Given her age and the fact that she is has been like this all night and day, taking her into the vet now would be the best option. The vet can diagnose what is causing her to behavior like this, and can treat accordingly.

Based on what you have told me, I would advise that you have him evaluated as soon as you can. Sounds like he is very weak and possibly in pain from some problem. If he goes outside, he may have gotten into a fight and has a abscess or infection brewing somewhere. Your vet can evaluate him and then advise tests that would be appropriate to diagnose what is going on. Blood tests, X-Rays, Physical exam and other tests may be needed to determine what is wrong. I sure hope that Simba is able to see a vet and that he starts feeling much better.

This sign is very concerning and may eventually be in a life threatening condition. Fever or extreme discomfort may be present. I would strongly recommend an immediate check up to confirm this clinical suspicion and have the appropriate treatment performed. Antibiotics may be needed.

I suspect Cleo is not feeling well and may be nauseous. Just like people, there are many conditions that can make pets feel sick. This could range from bacterial over growth to intestinal blockage. Also like us, diseases are best addressed early and this may result in a better prognosis. You need to monitor Cleo closely. If she is not eating or drinking well for 24 hours, if there is vomiting/diarrhea/coughing or signs of pain, I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian today. If the lethargy lasts for 24 hours, your kitty also needs to be examined. The doctor will need to learn the underlying cause in order to give appropriate treatment. Bring in a stool sample in case the doctor needs to test it. At home, Cleo should continue resting. Encourage eating and drinking. Bring her the food and water. Fluid intake is very important when pets and people don't feel good. You may try offering her some boiled white meat chicken or canned tuna (in water not oil). Hopefully this will pass quickly. If Emmy is otherwise fine, then it would be ok to monitor her for now. However, if at any point she appears to be in discomfort or stops eating or showing any other concerning symptoms, it may be best to have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment.
