My cat shakes his head a lot and now looks yellow. What's wrong?

Poor guy. If he continues to vomit or is also really lethargic, has pale gums or is breathing abnormally, then that indicates he is highly unstable and needs to go to an ER vet. However, if he is still alert, active and mentally sound, he should be ok to try a bland diet of tuna and white rice to hopefully settle his stomach. He may have an infection however so have him seen by a vet first thing in the morning if he continues to have these symptoms. I hope your kitty Elliot feels better soon!

The picture is a little fuzzy on my end, but the ear itself looks a little puffy. If Arnold shook his head/ears so much he may have busted a small blood vessel in the ear and there could be blood trapped under the skin (called an aural hematoma). These can be very painful and often need treatment. Ear mites and ear infections are common causes of head-shaking like this. I would recommend that Arnold see a vet to diagnose the cause of the head-shaking and to see if there is a hematoma that also needs treatment.

With him being so young, I would take him to your vet or local emergency clinic as soon as possible to have him examined. The vet will be able to do an exam, ensure he doesn't have a fever, and see if this could be an infection versus a toxin. Your vet will also be able to run blood work if needed. If it is an infection, your vet will likely want to start antibiotics or other medication . If a toxin is suspected then they may recommend some fluids to help flush the toxin out.
