Updated on September 23, 2025

My friend says that her 3 cats dont have ring worm when their losing hair , and scratching alot. My daughter has gotten ringworm twice from them and she's only 8 months old. Is there a way I can get them to get the cats checked

Unfortunately, there is no legal way to do that as they are your friends property. However, I would absolutely refuse to let my daughter at their house. That should send a message that you are very sure about where she is getting ringworm from. (I am very suspicious too.) I’ve also included a link to a good handout below so that your friend can be as educated as possible in making decisions for her cats (and her own health).

Hope this helps and best of luck to you, your daughter, your friend, and her cats!
