Cat has raised sores, thought it was sunburn, but it's not healing.

Hi, and thanks for your question. This presentation could be due to a trauma (bite wound, or a burn) or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking (if any). That looks uncomfortable on Eclipse’s flank! It is likely infected and she likes needs antibiotics to get that to heal quickly. There could be many underlying causes such as fleas, mites, ringworm (which humans can get), possibility allergies or possiblely contact with some sort of chemical that causes a burn. Regardless, the doctor will prescribe medication for infection and likely to decrease inflammation. She should also wear an Elizabethan collar at all times as her licking will only make it worse. Those look like pretty inflamed lesions. There are a few things that come to mind. Cats can get an autoimmune condition called eosinophilic granuloma that requires steroids for treatment and maybe antibiotics to control secondary infections. Check the house and make sure there's no possibility should could have touched something very hot or gotten into anything that could cause a chemical burn. Lastly, fleas and ringworm can be brought in on your shoes/clothing although this would be an abnormal presentation. Rarely, pets can get skin cancer that looks similar to this. I recommend to have Shadow checked out by her veterinarian since this is a mystery and she has two lesions. It's better to be safe. It's impossible to know based on pictures but because of the extensive areas it is affecting i strongly recommend taking her to the vet in order to get it treated as it is likely to be allergy related and you won't be able to fix it on your own.

This looks like a condition called eosinophilic granuloma, it's an autoimmune disease related to various allergies as well, you need to bring him to the vet ASAP, the treatment for this condition is usually done with steroids and hypoallergenic food.

It looks like she may have a skin infection. Hard to know what exactly started it. Could something hot have dripped on her? She may need some antibiotics. I would encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian. I hope she improves quickly!
