What to do when my 9-month-old cat won't eat or drink and is weak?

She sounds quite ill, and she truly has to have veterinary care; in fact, I would consider her current symptoms a medical emergency. Annie needs to be examined by the veterinarian today. It sounds like she is very sick and there is nothing you can do for her at home at this point. Just like humans, pets can get sick for many many reasons. Some of these can be treated IF THEY ARE CAUGHT IN TIME. Other reasons will be fatal. Have her examined today to find out your options and so that Annie does not suffer if she is found to have something not treatable. Euthanasia is a hard decision but it relieves suffering. Hi. It sounds like she is very sick. With these signs, she needs to go to the ER right away. It sounds as if she has a neurologic condition that is progressing. They will do an exam, labwotk and imaging and that will help.guide us to the possible diagnosis. Good.luck

Poor kitty! If she is vomiting and not eating or drinking, this is a serious problem - even if the problem began because of stress, she will quickly become dehydrated if this continues. I would recommend having her examined by a vet as soon as you can - he/she can do blood work and x-rays if needed to find out what's wrong and get her started on IV fluids and other supportive care if needed.

This is potentially deadly, and your kitten should be seen right away to check her blood sugar levels, assess for dehydration, and address the cause of her weakness. Another very serious concern in a stray kitten is the possibility of rabies infection, which is transmitted from the saliva of infected mammals, can be passed on to humans, and is fatal. There may also be other underlying neurologic causes for her condition, and a veterinarian can help determine the cause and start treatment .
