What's this dry, scaly, possibly ulcerated growth on my cat's nose?

Hello. I am always concerned about an ulcerated nasal planum in a relatively young cat. This could be bacterial, autoimmune, fungal, or cancer ( less likely due to his relatively young age ). You really need to see your veterinarian for a minimum of a culture & to start antibiotics. If the antibiotics do not seem to be helping, than a biopsy will be necessary. It is difficult to say from the pictures but because it is black and is on an area where there is not much hair, I am concerned it could be a melanoma, which is a type of cancerous tumor. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine this and consider further testing on this to ensure it is nothing to be worried about. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction! This is actually very concerning. I suggest you get her to your vet as soon as possible. Your picture is a bit blurry but I would worry that this might be a tumor. A nasal polyp or fungal infection might cause an ulcer and nose bleeds as well. I would recommend seeing your veterinarian to have Fatcat examined.

Poor Moto! I am concerned that could be a type of cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. The only way to know for sure is to biopsy the lesion. He should have a work-up with blood-work and x-rays and also discuss aspirating and/or biopsying his lesions/masses. You should call your vet and schedule an examination.

This can be seen in a few different cases, but I always worry about skin cancer in white cats, so it's best to have it checked out by your veterinarian. I have seen similar lesions when they rub their nose on something, or with certain infections, so I would not be too worried; just have it checked to be safe. It's not an emergency, but good to have her seen in the next week to ensure treatment is initiated early if it's something serious. For now, I do not recommend doing any sort of treatment at home. It's best to leave it alone until a vet can have a look. It may be the start of a fungal or bacterial infection or growth of some sort. You can try to apply a warm compress to see if it will loosen some of the scabs without hurting her for tonight. You will have to talk to your vet about further testing such as a culture or biopsy and medication to clear it completely though.
