Is my cat's meowing and restlessness normal for being in heat?

This is likely normal behavior if she is in heat. It is really recommended that she be spayed if she is not a breeding animal. Cats that are not spayed are at risk of developing mammary (breast) cancer and/or pyometra (a life-threatening uterine infection). The more times they go through a heat cycle the chance rises. You know her best and if you are worried I suggest you take her to urgent care. Since I cannot examine her in person I can only guess at to what is going on. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

It sounds like LaLa could be in heat! Cats in heat vocalize a lot and are more affectionate than usual. Their behavior can be extremely annoying while in heat, so I'd have her spayed if you don't want to deal with this anymore. Best of luck.

Hi there. If Lily is a young cat (around 8-9 months to a year old) and is not spayed, it's likely that she's in heat. These are all normal behaviors for a cat during her heat cycle. If this is the case, having her spayed should resolve these issues.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Starting her heat cycle in a unspayed female cat is the most common reason for increased vocalization. Other possible causes are: she sees other cats outside (territorial), anxiety (cats outside, starting heat, changes to house hold), attention seeking, or medical issue. I would close the blinds temporarily, provide environmental enrichment (cat trees, interactive cat toys, lazer pointer, play with her) and consider spaying her. You can also consider a Vet exam to be sure it isn't a medical condition. If she is otherwise fine, I hope that is improves with time and some of the above. Have a great day!

A cat in heat can certainly cause a male to be more restless and vocal. For his best long term health I would recommend having Kovu neutered, but being vocal is not necessarily a sign of illness. If he is eating, drinking, urinating and defecating normally, then "talking" may just be his personality.

Hello. It is possible that Kiara is bothered by some kind of skin parasite, such as cat fleas or mites. You may need to apply an appropriate flea topical to help her. She may also be in heat. She is old enough to come into heat & they can act & vocalize in strange ways. If the behavior continues, please have her seen by your veterinarian. She may simply need to be spayed. Unfortunately, it's hard to know if this is pathological or if she is in heat? I recommend to look up information on heat cycles and watch videos. Also record the behavior on video. If this is not a heat cycle or if you are unsure if it is, I recommend to have her examined and have the doctor watch the video. The vet will palpate her spine and may check her urine for infection to look for a medical cause.
