My cat's litter has white jelly and plant pieces. Is she sick?

It sounds as California is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Hello, sorry to hear about Lorna. Its unlikely to be an emergency but she may not be feeling like her normal self and may have an upset stomach. I would recommend having her evaluated by her veterinarian. If you note however that she is not eating, develops vomiting or lethargy then she should be evaluated sooner. Possible causes for her litter box behaviour include a urinary tract infection, urinary crystals or bladder stones, or it may be due to gastrointestinal discomfort such as gastroenteritis or pancreatitis. In the meantime, continue to monitor her closely. If her vomiting continues, or if her energy or appetite worsen, I would get her to the vet sooner rather than later. Pale, white, or gray stools may be indicators of liver disease or intestinal bacterial infections. You may want to take a stool sample as well as your cat, if the stool does not normalize over the next few days or of your kitty appears ill. The vet may want to do blood work to make sure the liver is functioning properly. If so then it is likely that your kitty has an intestinal infection that will require antibiotics to clear up.

Oh no it's not good that Kitty ate that vomit! At most, I would expect that eating this vomit could cause some GI upset, causing her to vomit and/or have diarrhea. It's good that it doesn't look like she has eaten the plastic bag, and if she ate the bag, I would be concerned that the bag could cause a foreign body obstruction. Keep an eye on her for now, and if you see any vomiting or diarrhea, I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps her. I recommend withholding food for 12-24 hours, then feeding a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. She is cute! She could have an infection or a parasite. You could take a stool sample to your vet and have it tested for parasites. If she hasn't been dewormed then an intestinal parasite is a definite possibility and your vet can prescribe a dewormer. She might also need some fluids to prevent dehydration. You could also add a probiotic to her food and see if that helps. Hope she gets better soon!
