Why does my cat have very large pupils and seizures? Is it serious?

He may be having vision problems, high blood pressure or might have had a seizure. If his pupils are wide open, please take him to an out of hours or emergency veterinarian now. He may have high blood pressure and fast intervention can reverse any blindness caused by this. If his pupils are normal and react normally, take him to a vet tomorrow for an exam.

You need to take her to the vet urgently, the symptoms you described indicate a total loss of vision in that eye, there is nothing you can do at home to help, she needs veterinary assistance to have a chance to get her vision back in that eye.

Odie needs to see a veterinarian ASAP!! This is obviously not normal. Seizures in cats are not a good sign. I am not quite sure. It may be that you are seeing a severely dilated pupil. Some disease can cause hypertension, which if unmanaged for some time, can cause damage to the retina which causes a dilated pupil and blindness. I would recommend that you have Tiger examined by the vet. They can look at the eye and do bloodwork and blood pressure testing to see what is going on. Some of these cases can be reverse, while others the blindness will be permanent.

I am very concerned that there may be some other underlying problem. Have you tried to shine a light into her eyes? If so, did the pupils get smaller? If not there is a chance that your cat may have seriously high blood pressure that can cause blindness, however often is reversible if treated quickly. This may not have anything to do with her pregnancy, however without a hands-on exam there is no way to tell what is causing this problem. Please take her to a vet ASAP. You need to take Naila into a vet immediately, this is a medical emergency. I would be very concerned she has head trauma, which would cause the head tilt, blood from the nose, and the anisocoria (one pupil more dilated than the other). When anisocoria comes on suddenly, this is a medical emergency. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. It is possible that Todd was having a seizure. Due to his age I would recommend taking him to a vet for an exam. Older cats can develop disease that might predispose them to seizures like heart disease, hyperthyroidism, liver disease and neurologic disease. The vet will complete an exam and than most likely recommend some blood work to tell for underlying disease.
