I would not use Miralax if she is having diarrhea as you no longer need a laxative. Benefiber would be my recommendation to help bulk up the stool since she is experiencing diarrhea now. Glandex is fine to continue long term as it is a good source of fiber. You can also use Vetasyl capsules for cats (protein in capsule form). If using Benefiber, I would use ~1/2 tsp added to the food. You can also use Laxatone to help keep stools soft and help prevent constipation. I hope this helps!

Veterinarians should carry therapeutic diets with extra fiber- Hills makes W/D and Royal Canin makes Fiber Response. If you just want an over the counter food, like for a senior or mature formula, they tend to have a higher fiber content. Kisses to George!

I am not sure what fibo syrup has in it ( tried to research this product & can not find the ingredients ), but we use a product called Miralax here. It is also known as polyethylene glycol 3350. We will give 1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon with each meal of wet food. Try to increase fluid intake by offering chicken or beef stocks & broths, tuna water, & of course, fresh water. If Fluffy is eating, give her another 24 hours, but if she does not defecate, she may need professional help & you will need to have her evaluated by your veterinarian. Instead of switching food I would first start with adding a tablespoon of plain canned pumpkin to each meal. That is natural fiber and most cats like it and eat it readily. Adjust the amount so the stool is larger, softer and he goes to the bathroom at least once daily. You can also open a capsule of plain Metamucil and sprinkle it on the food to increase fiber. Hi, yes that will be fine . I would also look into increasing his water intake by adding some water to his food/using a water fountain. I would also consider using lax a past to help until things settle. Hope Mr Boo gets better soon !
