My cat has a gash on her cheek. Should I take her to the vet?

Poor Caramel! In all honesty, it would be best to take her into a vet now, especially since I can't see her in person to say how bad is the bite. In my opinion, it's better to be safe than sorry. She needs to be checked out to make sure there is no internal damage from the bite, the wound needs to be cleaned and possibly sutured, and she will need antibiotics to prevent any infection. I would strongly recommend taking her to your vet as she will need to have an antibiotic injection to prevent an infection from surely happening. the are should be clipped and clean as much as possible but a course of antibiotics is crucial.

That appears to be infected. I recommend to have Noelle examined by the veterinarian. Infections can spread to the blood stream and it sounds like she is in pain as well. she will likely need the hair clipped away, the area cleaned, an antibiotic, a pain medication and an elizabethan collar to protect the area from further wounds. Clipping the fur in the area to evaluate it better and allow it to dry out would be best. Honey likely will need an antibiotic or a topical cream. If she is scratching she may need something to relieve the itch. Also check for fleas since she goes outside. It could be an allergy, in cats they can develop red plaques on their face, neck and belly with food and environmental allergies. I hope this helps and I wish Honey a speedy recovery!

I am sorry to hear about Stitch. Based on your description I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. I would be concerned about possible head trauma/brain injury, injury to the eyes which can be very delicate and if left untreated can result in permanent damage/loss of vision. It also sounds like she has significant swelling of the face. This is likely very painful even if your cat is not showing obvious pain (cats are very good at hiding pain) imagine if you had been mauled as your cat had. The vet can prescribe pain medication to help Stitch feel more comfortable, antibiotics if needed to prevent infection, and may also booster Stitch's rabies vaccine if it has not been done recently and this dog is of unknown vaccine status.
