My cat passed away after eating gormet chicken food in white sauce and we found him having a seizure and foaming from the mouth and have avoided the food since but never understood why hE passed away. Is it likeyly that he had an allergic reaction to the food or could it be something else?

Hi, thanks again for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
Thanks for letting me know that Willow was only 5 months old! The most common cause of seizures in a kitten that young is FIP. Other potential infectious differentials include FeLV/FIV, toxoplasmosis, cryptococcus, aberrant parasites, and rabies. Other causes of seizures include trauma, hydrocephalus, storage diseases, portosystemic shunt (congenital liver problem), thiamin deficinecy, lead poisoning, ethylene glycol, neoplasia (especially meningioma or lymphoma) and organophosphates.
I would check online to see if that specific food has a recall on it.
I hope this helps!
