My cat got in the bathroom gutter. Will she get sick from germs?

If the solution you used was a dish soap (such as Dawn here in the US), she should be fine until you can get to her again. It may cause mild GI upset if she grooms it or mild skin irritation. If you notice redness, sores, or hives, then she may need to be seen by a veterinarian. Good luck!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If the floor looked dry I am sure she is fine. I do not think she needs to see a vet. If you want to rinse her mouth out well with water as a precaution and wipe her paws well with water to prevent any more possible ingestion that isn't wrong. If she becomes lethargic, drools, won't eat or in anyway appears abnormal then bring her to the Vet. But based on your description I think she will be fine. Maybe have a discussion with your roommate about this so it won't happen again. I hope this helps!

I’d just watch her for now, and check her mouth to make sure there are no burns in it. If you see burns, take her into a vet immediately. Cleaning solutions are usually irritating to the stomach and intestines, but don't tend to cause much internal toxicity besides that. If she is eating, drinking and acting normally, then I would not be too concerned. She may have diarrhea for a day or two also, but this is OK. If she continues to vomit for more than 24 hours, has diarrhea for more than three days, or is not eating, drinking and acting normally, then I recommend taking her to the vet. Cats do mysterious things. He likely was just behaving in a curious manner or was attracted by whatever scent the dish soap is. I would recommend monitoring him for any upset stomach symptoms such as: excessive vomiting, diarrhea or decreased appetite. It sounds like you have taken the appropriate precautions and it should be just fine. Symptoms of cleaner ingestion may include: excessive drooling, vomiting, and/or a decrease in appetite. If any of this occurs for Mirz, please seek veterinary care. But once again, I do not think you have much to be concerned about after all you have done.

I would make sure that you got all the oil and rinse well after washing. She was probably sitting underneath a car and got oily that way. I would observe her for a day and if she shows no sign of illness there is no need to take her to a vet.
