My lorikeet's droppings are blue after eating grapes. Is this normal?

Updated on September 23, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Lory | Male | 1 year old

My lorikeet had unusually blue droppings (teal in colour) yesterday which after a few more turned olive green then normal the next day. He was fed grapes (purple) but they usually only turn his droppings dark in colour, not blueish.

Thanks for reaching out about Dale. First thought is a pigment but a liver concern should also be on your list. If lethargic or other signs of illness, a veterinary visit should be sought, as early diagnosis and treatment has a better prognosis.
Good luck.
