Check local and state wildlife laws first to make sure you are allowed to keep Angel. Next, contact the local veterinary clinic and ask for the contact information of nearby wildlife rehabilitator. If you are legally prohibited from keeping wildlife, a rehabber will give Angel the best chance at treatment and recovery. If you are allowed to keep Angel, a rehabber should be able to direct you to a veterinarian who may be able to help out. It appears to be a species of Egret. They eat small fish, frogs, aquatic and terrestrial insects, small reptiles and small birds. It would be best if you could get the bird into the hands of a wildlife rehabilitator. It may require veterinary care after a proper exam to determine the extent of any injuries.

I am sorry to hear about your situation. It sounds like she defintely needs medical attention. I would see if your parents can drive her to a rehab center or some rehab volunteers will pick animals up so perhaps you can find someone to do this. Until then I would keep the bird in a quiet dark place and handle it as little as possible.

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do other than try to keep the bird calm and quiet. I would avoid handling it as birds can pass illnesses to people and other pets. Trying to find a wildlife rehab that can take it ASAP is best!
