Is my bird sick with bird flu? What are the signs and how to diagnose?

A veterinary visit needs to be arranged to assist with a diagnostics/treatment plan, as different conditions are treated with different medications/procedures. You bird is very sick, but i couldn't tell you what is wrong based on these very general symptoms, you will need to take him to an avian vet where a blood test and faecal exam will be done to determine what is the cause of the disease.

It is important to have Pina examined by an experienced avian veterinarian as soon as possible. Rule out other, possibly treatable, causes for her condition. This will require a physical exam and possibly bloodwork, xrays and a fecal examination. There isn't a reliable test for PDD, so it is usually a diagnosis of exclusion. Unfortunately, the prognosis can be poor for birds infected with PDD. Treatment is largely supportive and may include anti inflammatories, supplemental heat, a stress free environment, isolation from other birds and a special diet that is easily digestible. Vomiting and nasal discharge in birds can be a sign of bacterial or fungal infections, toxin ingestion, as well as damage to the crop (the area that stores food in the esophagus). I recommend having your bird seen by a vet as soon as possible to determine the underlying cause, provide stabilization and treatment as necessary.

This may have been due to infection, trauma or poor nutrition. You would need to have the bird examined by an experienced avian veterinarian for a diagnosis. Treatment will depend on that diagnosis. Antibiotics may be needed in addition to a proper diet. In the meantime, keep the bird warm and as stress free as possible. if it is caged with others, house it singly. Offer a quality commercial pelleted diet. you may need to soak or moisten in to make eating easier. Offer small amounts of diced fresh fruits and vegetables as well as foods such as boiled egg, beans and plain pastas. A mineral block and cuttlebone should also be made available.

This sounds like Piku is pretty ill and needs to be seen by a vet. Vomiting and lethargy are both very general signs of illness, and since birds are very good at hiding being sick, if Piku is showing visible signs he should be treated by a vet in person. In the meantime, keeping him in a warm hospital cage with access to food and water may help, but if the problem persists, vet care is needed.

It is difficult to determine illness in a bird from just images. A physical exam is necessary to definitively diagnose illness or injury. That said, your bird appears to be "bright and alert". A sick bird will be perching low with the eyes closed and feathers puffed out. It will be lethargic, have a decreased or loss of appetite and possibly loose droppings. The problem is that birds are good at concealing illness or injury until the condition is quite serious. If Golgappa is exhibiting any of these symptoms or is acting oddly, then an exam with your veterinarian or an experienced avian veterinarian would be recommended.
