My male goat rubs his head. Can his musk cause human allergies?

Adverse reaction to kitten formulas is not common, instead of switching to goat milk i would just switch to a different formula. regarding the SC Clindamycin, i do not understand why your vet would give this antibiotic to a young kitten in the first place so it is a good thing has now been stopped. regarding the skin i would recommend waiting a couple weeks before deciding if it needs to be treated or not, it might resolve without treatment.

While I'm sure it is possible for a dog to be allergic to another dog (perhaps saliva or dander), I think perhaps the more likely scenario is Grizzly may have developed an allergy to something over time. Dogs, like humans, can develop allergies to a variety of substances- food, environmental allergens (like pollen, mold, dust) and many others. Often times, allergies to become apparent as the dog ages and can get worse over time. You may want to take Grizzly into your local veterinarian to have a few allergy tests run to determine what it is he is allergic to. That way, you will know for sure. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Hercules. He may be experiencing an allergic reaction to something in the wet grass. Wiping his muzzle with a cool damp rag will soothe the skin and help to physically remove any allergen still present on his skin. I would try to avoid wet grass whenever possible and see if this helps. If this is not possible or his reaction worsens over time, then he will need to see his veterinarian. Antihistamines such as Benadryl can help, but are generally not very effective. There are prescription allergy medications for dogs that work very well. I hope this information helps!

As far as my knowledge goes this is not officially (scientifically) recommended as cannot help with both allergies and general gastrointestinal inflammation related to diet. Personally I do not recommend it in these cases. It is true though that goat milk can be digested more easily compared to dairy milk.

Hello. Without knowing how long ago the doe was in with the buck, I cannot rule out pregnancy, but a steroid injection could cause a pregnant animal to abort, so watch for any unusual discharge. This might also be a false pregnancy, idiopathic lactation (lactogenesis), mastitis or some other infection. I would suggest having your doe tested for CAE, & possibly tested to see if she is developing mastitis. Your veterinarian can do this for you very easily. It really comes down to figuring out what is causing his allergies so that they can be treated or the specific allergen avoided. A secondary infection is likely and also needs to be addressed. There are many things that can cause allergies though in most cases they can be broken down into 3 big categories: flea, food and environmental allergies. Allergies are usually worked up in a stepwise fashion starting with flea allergies as this is the easiest and cheapest to take care of. If not on a flea preventative, then it would be a good idea to get started on one. If already on one then it would be a good idea to change to something else (there are many new products out in the market). If not improved in 1-3 months then it is time to move on and check for food allergies by switching to a novel diet (new protein and new carbohydrate). If that does not seem to be the issue then you are left out having to check for environmental allergies which require blood and/or skin tests. Allergies can be very frustrating to deal with at first but so rewarding at the end when we are able to treat them effectively!

From the pictures and your description, it sounds as though Mitt may be having an allergic reaction. I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at him as he may require a steroid injection along with an antihistamine injection to be treated.
