Terms & Conditions

Membership Eligibility

No purchase is necessary to become a member ("Member") of or to enroll in Petco's Pals Rewards membership program (the "Pals Rewards Program"). Members shall provide their contact information upon signing up for the Pals Rewards Program and agree to receive Pals Rewards benefits, and account and transactional communications, via email. Member must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

Benefits

Members will earn 1 Pals Rewards point (each a “Point”) for every dollar ($1.00 USD) spent on merchandise at any Petco retail store; any Unleashed by Petco retail store; online at Petco.com; and/or via the Petco mobile app (the “App”). Members who have a Petco Pay credit card may also earn Points through purchases made with their Petco Pay credit card pursuant to the Petco Pay Terms & Conditions, and should review those Terms for information about how their Points will accrue. Pals Rewards Dollars will be issued to Member at the rate of five (5) Pals Rewards Dollars for every 100 Points earned by Member, which Member may use towards $5 off any future purchase, subject to these Terms & Conditions.

General Terms

Pals Rewards Dollars are based on total Member spending at any Petco retail store; any Unleashed by Petco retail store; online at Petco.com; and/or via the App. Points will not accrue for money spent by Member on tax or shipping or via coupons or promotions. Neither Points nor Pals Rewards Dollars have any cash value.

Members must provide their Pals Rewards Program number at checkout to receive Points for their purchase. For purchases at Petco.com or via the App, Members must be logged into their Pals Rewards Account (“Account”) to earn Points. Members are responsible for maintaining accurate and updated contact information online at Petco.com, at Palsrewards.com, or within the App.

Pals Rewards Dollars are not assignable, saleable, transferable, replaceable or redeemable for cash. Petco is not responsible for Pals Rewards Dollars not received as a result of Member's failure to provide an accurate email address and/or update Member's contact information.

Petco may email Member regarding the Pals Rewards Program from time to time, including but not limited to providing Member (1) Pals Rewards Program Account statements, (2) Pals Rewards Dollars award notifications, and/or (3) other transactional information. Member consents to these email notifications which are required as part of Pals Rewards membership. Members may opt-out of promotional email messages anytime at Petco.com, Palsrewards.com, or within the App. The Pals Rewards Program is continuous and no subsequent registration is required. Pals Rewards Dollars earned on a purchased item which is then returned or exchanged may be deducted from Member's Account balance. Returns may cause a negative Pals Rewards Dollars and/or Points balance. If, for any reason, Member or Petco cancels an order that was paid in whole or in part using Pals Rewards Dollars, Petco will return the applicable value of the Member’s Points back to their Account.

Points Accrual Rules

Member is solely responsible for any federal, state and local taxes associated with any purchases where applicable. Points are earned on all eligible transactions completed at any Petco retail store; any Unleashed by Petco retail store; online at Petco.com; and/or via the App, through cash, credit card or using Petco gift cards. (See the Petco Pay Terms & Conditions for details on accruing Points using the Petco Pay credit card.) All eligible purchases are applied towards accruing Points, and Pals Rewards Dollars shall be issued to Member for each qualifying 100 Points earned by Member.

Purchases made by Members to buy Gift Cards, and donations made by Members to Petco Love or other charities (both monetary donations and donations through the purchase of specific merchandise), are not eligible to earn Points. Taxes and shipping costs are not eligible to receive Points.

If Member's Account is inactive for 90 days, any Points accumulated towards Pals Rewards Dollars will be reset to zero (0). A Member’s Account is considered inactive when there have been no new purchases posted to the Account.

If a Member believes their eligible purchase was incorrectly applied toward earning Pals Rewards Dollars, they may contact Petco Customer Relations at 888-824-PALS (7257). Requests must be received by Petco Customer Relations within forty-five (45) days from the date of the purchasing or earning activity in question. Written requests should include the Member's name, Pals Rewards Program number, address, daytime telephone number, and/or e-mail address. Failure to supply adequate and unaltered documentation may result in denial of Points credits.

Petco may present additional opportunities from time to time for Member to earn Points by engaging in non-purchase behavior online, including, but not limited to, completing a Member profile or answering a survey, with Rewards Dollar increments varying at Petco's discretion.

Pals Reward Dollars Issuance and Redemption

Pals Rewards Dollars will be issued to Member at the rate of five (5) Pals Rewards Dollars for every 100 Points earned by Member, which Member may use towards $5 off any future purchase. Pals Rewards Dollars may be displayed in the Member's Account at Petco.com, Palsrewards.com, and/or in the App. Members may be required to load their earned Pals Rewards Dollars to their Account in order to use the Rewards during a purchase. Members can do so by logging onto their Account online or in the App, or by calling Petco Customer Relations at 888-824-PALS (7257).

Pals Rewards Dollars shall only be redeemable on future purchases with a balance owed that is equal to or greater than $5. Pals Rewards Dollars cannot be partially redeemed, or redeemed on a purchase that is less than $5. Pals Rewards Dollars cannot be redeemed in full or in part for cash, gift cards or gift certificates. Petco is not responsible for lost or stolen Pals Rewards Dollars. All Pals Rewards Dollars expire upon 45 days of issuance date. Pals Rewards Dollars can be redeemed in any Petco retail store; any Unleashed by Petco retail store; at select Vetco clinics and Vetco Total Care locations; on Petco.com; or within the App. Pals Rewards Dollars cannot be redeemed at Just Food For Dogs Kitchens, Thrive Vet Hospitals, or at any third-party veterinary partner located within a Petco. Pals Rewards Dollars will be applied prior to any other coupons at point of sale.

Points and Reward Coupon Return Policy

If Member returns merchandise that was purchased with Pals Rewards Dollars, the returned value of the merchandise will only equate to the total cash or credit originally charged. The Pals Rewards Dollars, Points, and/or coupons applied to the original transaction will not be credited back to the Member. If a Member returns an item that earned the Member Pals Rewards Points, the applicable number of Points will be deducted from their Account.

Nutrition Perk – Buy 7 Dry Food Bags, Get Your 8th Free

The “Nutrition Perk” is an offer in the United States for dog and cat owners to earn a coupon toward the cost of one (1) bag of dry dog or cat food, when they accumulate (7) qualifying purchases of bags of dry dog or cat food (treats excluded), as detailed below:

  • To enroll in the Nutrition Perk, you must be a member of the Pals Rewards Program. You can activate your Nutrition Perk using the App. At the bottom of the App’s home screen, you can click the “Account” tab; then select “Pals Rewards”; and then click “Unlock.” These steps may change from time to time at our discretion.
  • Once you have activated your Nutrition Perk in the App, you can use the App to view your progress bar, which keeps track of your qualifying transactions and any credits you have earned toward your Nutrition Perk.
  • One (1) credit toward the Nutrition Perk will be earned when you purchase a qualifying bag of dry dog or cat food in a transaction that is linked to your Pals Rewards Account. After accumulating seven (7) qualifying purchases, you will earn one (1) food coupon for a free bag of dry dog or cat food. Purchases of dog or cat treats do not qualify toward earning the Nutrition Perk, and any coupons you earn through the Nutrition Perk may not be used toward the cost of treats. The coupon’s value will be based on the average cost of your 7 qualifying purchases, minus all discounts. However, if you use Pals Rewards Dollars toward the cost of a qualifying food purchase, your coupon’s value will be based on the original average cost of your qualifying purchases, before any Pals Rewards Dollars were applied to the purchase price.
  • The coupons you earn through the Nutrition Perk have no cash value and can only be redeemed for eligible bags of dry dog or cat food. The food coupon cannot be redeemed for cash, gift cards, or other products, and cannot be applied to the cost of any taxes, shipping, or other Petco services or offerings. To use your coupon online, your purchase must be shipped to addresses in the United States. Shipping fees may apply. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands or P.O. Boxes may result in additional shipping surcharges. Your Nutrition Perk coupons will expire ninety (90) days after they are issued. Your earned coupon will remain available under your progress bar in the App, until redeemed in-store or online at Petco.com, or until it expires ninety (90) days after issuance.
  • After you use any coupons you have earned as part of the Nutrition Perk, your progress bar in the App will reset the number of qualifying purchases you have accrued to zero (0). When your progress bar resets to zero (0), you can then continue to earn credits towards another coupon based on the conditions in these and any other applicable terms. Petco may, at its sole discretion, include or combine additional promotional offers from time to time, available within the App or otherwise.
  • Coupons earned through the Nutrition Perk cannot be shared with other customers or entities.
  • The purchase of multiple brands and sizes of qualifying dry food can contribute to the same Nutrition Perk reward. If you return any qualifying purchases, or exchange them for a lower-priced product, your credits toward the coupon will be reduced accordingly. If you have earned your Nutrition Perk coupon already, and then return or receive a refund on any qualifying purchases, we reserve the right to reduce the credits you have earned accordingly, and may deduct the value/cost of the returned product from the value of your future credits.
  • The Nutrition Perk coupon cannot be combined with any other promotional offer unless expressly stated in these Terms, or on that offer. Free items offered through specific brand offers, or other Petco offers such as Vital Care’s Welcome Gift, do not qualify to earn credits toward the Nutrition Perk, unless specifically stated in writing on that coupon, offer, or promotional document.
  • If you do not complete any qualifying Nutrition Perk purchases for 365 days, any accumulated credits towards your Nutrition Perk coupon will expire, and your progress bar will be reset to zero (0).
  • When you activate the Nutrition Perk in the App, your qualifying purchases made within seven (7) days prior to activation will be automatically added as credits toward your coupon, within approximately 48 hours.
  • Your Pals Rewards Program membership must be active and in good standing to earn or redeem any coupon. If your Pals Rewards membership is revoked, terminated, or canceled, your credits toward the Nutrition Perk will automatically expire upon revocation, termination, or cancellation.

Grooming Perk – Buy 7 Grooms, Get Your 8th Free

The “Grooming Perk” is an offer in the United States for dog and cat owners to earn one (1) free full-service bath, or one (1) free bath with haircut, for their dog and/or cat when they accumulate seven (7) qualifying full-service baths or baths with haircut for their dog and/or cat, as detailed below:

  • To enroll in the Grooming Perk, you must be a member of the Pals Rewards Program. You can activate your Grooming Perk using the App. At the bottom of the App’s home screen, you can click the “Account” tab; then select “Pals Rewards”; and then click “Unlock.” These steps may change from time to time at our discretion.
  • Once you have activated your Grooming Perk in the App, you can use the App to view your progress bar, which keeps track of your qualifying transactions and any credits you have earned toward your Grooming Perk.
  • To begin earning credits toward your Grooming Perk, search stores.petco.com by specific store to see Petco grooming salon information and hours/schedules. Participating Petco stores and salons are subject to change at any time.
  • One (1) credit toward the Grooming Perk will be earned when you purchase and complete a qualifying full-service bath, or bath with haircut, for your dog or cat, in a transaction that is linked to your Pals Rewards account. After completing seven (7) qualifying full-service baths, or baths with haircuts, you will earn one (1) free full-service bath, or bath with haircut, for your dog or cat. Grooming sessions completed at our mobile grooming salons do not earn credits toward the Grooming Perk, and your Grooming Perk cannot be redeemed or used at our mobile grooming salons.
  • The Grooming Perk rewards you earn have no cash value and can only be redeemed for one (1) full-service bath or bath with haircut for a dog or cat. The Grooming Perk reward cannot be redeemed for cash, gift cards, or other products, and cannot be applied to the cost of any taxes, shipping, any other Petco services or offerings. Your Grooming Perk rewards will expire ninety (90) days after they are issued. Your earned Grooming Perk reward will remain available under your progress bar in the App until redeemed, or until it expires ninety (90) days after issuance.
  • After you use any Grooming Perk rewards that you have earned, your progress bar in the App will reset the number of qualifying services you have accrued to zero (0). When your progress bar resets to zero (0), you can then continue to earn credits towards another free full-service bath or bath with haircut, based on the conditions in these and any other applicable terms. Petco may, at its sole discretion, include or combine additional promotional offers from time to time, available within the App or otherwise.
  • Any free full-service baths or baths with haircut that you earn via the Grooming Perk cannot be shared with other customers or entities.
  • If you have multiple pets registered to your Pals account, the purchase of qualifying full-service baths or baths with haircuts for each dog or cat can contribute to your progress towards the Grooming Perk reward. If you have earned your Grooming Perk reward already, and then receive a refund on any qualifying purchases for any reason, we reserve the right to reduce the credits you have earned accordingly, and may deduct the value/cost of the refund from the value of your future credits.
  • If you have multiple pets registered to your Pals account, the purchase of qualifying full-service baths or baths with haircuts for each dog or cat can contribute to your progress towards the Grooming Perk reward. If you have earned your Grooming Perk reward already, and then receive a refund on any qualifying purchases for any reason, we reserve the right to reduce the credits you have earned accordingly, and may deduct the value/cost of the refund from the value of your future credits.   • If you do not complete any qualifying Grooming Perk transactions for 365 days, any accumulated credits towards Grooming Perk reward will expire, and your progress bar will reset to zero (0).
  • When you activate the Grooming Perk in the App, your qualifying transactions made within seven (7) days prior to activation will be automatically added as credits toward your coupon, within approximately 48 hours.
  • Your Pals Rewards Program membership must be active and in good standing to earn or redeem any benefit. If your Pals Rewards membership is revoked, terminated, or canceled, your credits toward the Grooming Perk will automatically expire upon such revocation, termination, or cancellation.

Cancellation and Termination Policy

Petco maintains the right to terminate Member's participation in the Pals Rewards Program at any time. Upon termination, Member will forfeit any Points and/or Pals Rewards Dollars. Repeated returns of merchandise for which Points and/or Pals Rewards Dollars have been awarded may result in termination of Member's participation in the Pals Rewards Program if, in Petco's sole discretion, such behavior is determined to be fraudulent.

Modification of Program Policy

Petco reserves the right to modify and/or terminate the Pals Rewards Program and/or these Terms & Conditions at any time without notice. Terms & Conditions for the Program will be posted at Petco.com. Member's continued participation in the Pals Rewards Program, including use of an Account, Points and/or any Pals Rewards Dollars, shall indicate Member's acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

Petco's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy shall apply to Member's membership in the Pals Rewards Program.

Release of Liability

Member releases Petco Animal Supplies Stores, Inc., its affiliate entities, and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents from and against any and all liability relating to Member's Pals Rewards Program membership and/or these Terms & Conditions.

Governing Law and Arbitration

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed under the substantive laws of the state of California, without reference to conflict-of-laws.

  • To enroll in the Grooming Perk, you must be a member of the Pals Rewards Program. You can activate your Grooming Perk using the App. At the bottom of the App’s home screen, you can click the “Account” tab; then select “Pals Rewards”; and then click “Unlock.” These steps may change from time to time at our discretion.
  • Once you have activated your Grooming Perk in the App, you can use the App to view your progress bar, which keeps track of your qualifying transactions and any credits you have earned toward your Grooming Perk.
  • To begin earning credits toward your Grooming Perk, search stores.petco.com by specific store to see Petco grooming salon information and hours/schedules. Participating Petco stores and salons are subject to change at any time.
  • One (1) credit toward the Grooming Perk will be earned when you purchase and complete a qualifying full-service bath, or bath with haircut, for your dog or cat, in a transaction that is linked to your Pals Rewards account. After completing seven (7) qualifying full-service baths, or baths with haircuts, you will earn one (1) free full-service bath, or bath with haircut, for your dog or cat. Grooming sessions completed at our mobile grooming salons do not earn credits toward the Grooming Perk, and your Grooming Perk cannot be redeemed or used at our mobile grooming salons.
  • The Grooming Perk rewards you earn have no cash value and can only be redeemed for one (1) full-service bath or bath with haircut for a dog or cat. The Grooming Perk reward cannot be redeemed for cash, gift cards, or other products, and cannot be applied to the cost of any taxes, shipping, any other Petco services or offerings. Your Grooming Perk rewards will expire ninety (90) days after they are issued. Your earned Grooming Perk reward will remain available under your progress bar in the App until redeemed, or until it expires ninety (90) days after issuance.
  • After you use any Grooming Perk rewards that you have earned, your progress bar in the App will reset the number of qualifying services you have accrued to zero (0). When your progress bar resets to zero (0), you can then continue to earn credits towards another free full-service bath or bath with haircut, based on the conditions in these and any other applicable terms. Petco may, at its sole discretion, include or combine additional promotional offers from time to time, available within the App or otherwise.
  • Any free full-service baths or baths with haircut that you earn via the Grooming Perk cannot be shared with other customers or entities.
  • If you have multiple pets registered to your Pals account, the purchase of qualifying full-service baths or baths with haircuts for each dog or cat can contribute to your progress towards the Grooming Perk reward. If you have earned your Grooming Perk reward already, and then receive a refund on any qualifying purchases for any reason, we reserve the right to reduce the credits you have earned accordingly, and may deduct the value/cost of the refund from the value of your future credits.
  • If you have multiple pets registered to your Pals account, the purchase of qualifying full-service baths or baths with haircuts for each dog or cat can contribute to your progress towards the Grooming Perk reward. If you have earned your Grooming Perk reward already, and then receive a refund on any qualifying purchases for any reason, we reserve the right to reduce the credits you have earned accordingly, and may deduct the value/cost of the refund from the value of your future credits.   • If you do not complete any qualifying Grooming Perk transactions for 365 days, any accumulated credits towards Grooming Perk reward will expire, and your progress bar will reset to zero (0).
  • When you activate the Grooming Perk in the App, your qualifying transactions made within seven (7) days prior to activation will be automatically added as credits toward your coupon, within approximately 48 hours.
  • Your Pals Rewards Program membership must be active and in good standing to earn or redeem any benefit. If your Pals Rewards membership is revoked, terminated, or canceled, your credits toward the Grooming Perk will automatically expire upon such revocation, termination, or cancellation.

Cancellation and Termination Policy

Petco maintains the right to terminate Member's participation in the Pals Rewards Program at any time. Upon termination, Member will forfeit any Points and/or Pals Rewards Dollars. Repeated returns of merchandise for which Points and/or Pals Rewards Dollars have been awarded may result in termination of Member's participation in the Pals Rewards Program if, in Petco's sole discretion, such behavior is determined to be fraudulent.

Modification of Program Policy

Petco reserves the right to modify and/or terminate the Pals Rewards Program and/or these Terms & Conditions at any time without notice. Terms & Conditions for the Program will be posted at Petco.com. Member's continued participation in the Pals Rewards Program, including use of an Account, Points and/or any Pals Rewards Dollars, shall indicate Member's acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

Petco's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy shall apply to Member's membership in the Pals Rewards Program.

Release of Liability

Member releases Petco Animal Supplies Stores, Inc., its affiliate entities, and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents from and against any and all liability relating to Member's Pals Rewards Program membership and/or these Terms & Conditions.

Governing Law and Arbitration

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed under the substantive laws of the state of California, without reference to conflict-of-laws.
