Angelfish come in a large array of colors, patterns and sizes that make them very appealing to all levels of hobbyists. The Passer Angels are very hardy and will do quite well in the home aquarium as long as they have sufficient space and a balanced diet. They generally feed on a wide variety of algae, sponges, soft corals and other organisms, which is why they are not recommended for reef aquariums. The Passer Angel can grow to be over a foot in size, so ample swimming space is essential. Full grown adults of this angel will need around 250 gallons; however, you can get away with smaller aquariums when they are juveniles. Like most large angelfish the Passer will go through a complete transformation from juvenile to adult. As a juvenile, they are mostly orange with multiple blue vertical strips and one thick white stipe. Then they have a vibrant yellow caudal tail and blue outlining the other fins. As an adult their coloration will turn to dark blue with the same thick white stripes.
- - The Passer Angel goes through a drastic color morph from juvenile to adulthood
- - Add to an aquarium with ample swimming room and rockwork for grazing/hiding
- - For continued health, provide a varied diet of marine meaty foods, angelfish-based foods and algae-based foods
- - Not Reef safe: may disturb sessile invertebrates
- - Approximate selling size: Small 2.25-3.25"; Medium 3.25-4.25"

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
