Metallic Green Star Polyps are very hardy and easy to maintain and will add a brilliant, colorfast green to any reef aquarium. They do very well in most reef environments, including some that are less than ideal for less hardy corals. Provide enough space between neighbors, as their fast-growing nature can cause them to overgrow them quickly. As Star Polyps grow, the edges don't attach to the substrate immediately. The fringing edge can be safely trimmed back with scissors or a sharp razor, and the trimmings can be glued down to make new corals frags. Care should be taken when determining the ideal location for the Green Star Polyp Coral, as they prefer a place where they can receive moderate lighting and gentle water flow. They primarily depend on light; you will find these corals nearly impossible to feed, but there is little need to do so.
- - Provide an aquarium placement with moderate lighting and gentle water flow
- - For continued health, supplement with planktonic foods
- - Cannot tolerate copper medications
- - Great beginner coral

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
