The biggest waste of money I've ever dished out

I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I was to get this cat food prior to its arrival. After all, I've seen several advertisements about it and its natural ingredients (non-GMO) and their claims that it may extend pet lives. Now to be up front, I purchased this from the actual Gentle Giant website - this being prior to my realizing that PetCo sold it also. When it arrived (I ordered the dry food also), I immediately served a can to my 3 formerly feral (now indoor) cats. However, I was stunned that they didn't even approach the cat food. As you know, "smell" plays a huge role in a cat's perception, and I was surprised to note that the Gentle Giant cat food has very little smell. I had to bring my nose all the way (almost touching the food) to the can, and even then I had difficulty smelling it. And if cats can't even get a whiff of it, that alone may prevent them from even approaching the food. Additionally, Gentle Giants doesn't tell you the consistency of the food. When you read the ingredients and way they describe it, you'll falsely assume that it is made from bits of shreds (which most cats like). However, when it arrived, it looked like very wet diarrhea - almost like a semi-soup, with no chunks or bits in it whatsoever. OK, I thought - I'll just put the serving dish in front of their faces. They then took one bite or lick, and just thumbed their noses up, while walking away. What makes matters worse, is that I then opened two cans and placed those servings outdoors because we feed other feral cats also. I put the food outside on the patio (we live right by some woods) during the evening hours and when I came downstairs in the morning, the food was still there - it hadn't been touched at all. I found this unusual because whatever we put outside for the feral cats (and yes, possums and racoons eat the cat food often), every last scrap is usually gone - but not so with this Gentle Giants food - nobody liked it at all. And that's a bad indicator. So what a let down. I paid over $70 for a case of the Tuna cat food, along with a 9 lb bag of the dry cat chicken and tuna cat food. The cats didn't care for either food - what a complete waste of $70 plus shipping. I'll never do that again. To make matters worse, I even emailed Gentle Giant customer service to see if there was any money back guarantee in the event the cats won't go near the food. They were silent - no responses at all. In closing, I realizing that each cat is different and you can't project a rating that will cover all cats (or dogs), but in our case, the Gentle Giant foods (which have no smell at all) was completely shunned by my cats (and outdoor cats and other creatures also). Perhaps, their dog related foods are better - who knows - but I will never waste money again on any of the Gentle Giant food products.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Is this Pate? Is this shredded? What is the texture? Would be nice if they showed picture of what the food looks like.
