Additional Details

This crab's name is derived from the shape of its head and body. It has notably long legs and the males can be much larger than the females. Its long legs also gives it the appearance of a "Daddy Long Legs Spider". Despite its appearance, and due to its surprisingly quick speed, theArrow Crab may also attack small slower moving fish in the aquarium. This species is known to feed on bristle worms as well as feather dusters. As all crabs are opportunistic feeders, ensure that theArrow Crab has sufficient food as it may pick on polyps and corals. After molting, its old shell should be left in the tank as the crab will eat the molt to grow back its exoskeleton. Arrow Crab - Living Conditions This crab likes to hide in small crevices and caves. A nocturnal species, theArrow Crab is rarely seen out in the open during daylight. This scavenger should not be housed with others of its species.
