Dog Stairs & Ramps
Dog stairs and ramps can help if your pup isn’t able to easily jump into the car or onto the sofa anymore. And special dog steps are available to help some small-legged breeds, like Dachshunds, get around with ease.
When it comes to dog stairs, there are a few elements you’ll need to consider. First, they should be covered in a special slip-free surface or carpeting so your pup can get a good grip when climbing up or down them. Be sure to measure the height of the couch or bed the steps will lead to so your dog can easily climb up to join you.
A ramp might also be a suitable option depending on what you need it for. If you live in an apartment with an elevator or a single story home, your dog may not be used to using steps. In this case, a ramp will be easier for them to use. Or maybe your pup used to be a master of using steps, but they’re simply unable to maneuver them anymore (ramps are a great solution for getting senior pups into the car).
