Assembly Instructions

1. Remove cardboard.
2. Remove filter reservoir.
3. Remove water reservoir.
4. Remove pump unit from box and remove rubber band. Do not move flow lever.
5. Press unit firmly in area marked pump. Suction cups must grip the bottom of base. Flow lever should extend into bowl area.
6. Turn flow lever all the way to the flow position (left toward the water ramp). Open grommet and close around power cord. Insert grommet into base.
7. Replace filter reservoir unit.
8. Fill bowl with water to 1/2" below rim.
9. Remove filter from bag.
10. Rinse filter in water to remove excess charcoal dust.
11. Insert filter in corner slots in filter reservoir. Slide it down to bottom. Note: Up label goes on top.
12. Fill filter reservoir to top of reservoir ramp on small size only.
13. Remove cap from water reservoir.
14. Fill reservoir unit with water. Replace cap.
15. Replace water reservoir.
16. Replace cover.
17. Note: Be sure flow lever is in low position toward water ramp before plugging in.
18. Plug in to electrical socket. Note: Pump may take two to three minutes before it begins circulating water down the slope.

    Unit can be turned off and on with in-line switch on Deluxe Fresh Flow only.

Warning: Do not let pump run dry. When pump makes air suction noise and water gurgling sound, water level is extremely low. Add water immediately.

1. Note: Pump may take two to three minutes before it begins circulating water. This allows time for air to be removed from pump. The pump is silent. You will not hear anything except the flowing of water down the slope.
2. Mineral build-up from tap water, or water from other sources, can ruin the pump. If hard water is a problem bottled water is recommended. The pump may need occasional cleaning to remove build-up, especially when using hard water. If debris is caught in the intake vents of the pump, disconnect the pump from any power sources and rinse the pump under clean running water. Check strainer and intake vents once a week for pet hair and debris. Remove as needed.
3. Always unplug unit before performing any type of maintenance.
   • Filter maintenance. Check charcoal filter after 30 days. Replace filter every 60 to 90 days for usage by one animal. Multiple animal homes will require more frequent replacement.
   • Cleaning. Bowl, reservoirs and all plastic parts may be cleaned with mild dish soap. Do not place unit in dishwasher.
   • Adding water. Add water to storage reservoir when it appears low. You must remove the reservoir to add water to it. Water may also be added to bowl by pouring slowly from a cup directly into the bowl.

The Submersible Pump is tested and certified to ensure safety and operating performance. Failure to follow instructions and warnings in the manual may result in pump damage and/or serious injury. Only the pump and electrical cord directly connecting the two are to come in contact with water. Under no circumstances should the plug-in transformer or other parts come into contact with water. Do not plug-in or otherwise use this product if any part of it appears to be damaged or operating abnormally. Make a drip loop on the electrical cord connecting the pump to the transformer plug by letting a portion of the cord hang lower than either the pump or the transformer. Do not let the pump run when not submerged in water. Doing so may damage the pump. Always submerge the pump first, and then plug in. Keep the unit unplugged when not under direct observation. Use this product indoors only.

Introducing Your Pet to the Pet Fountain
Each animal's response to the Pet Fountain will be different depending on age, temperament, and breed. Some will be nervous because of the flowing water and the low hum of the pump. The manufacturer recommends placing the unit unplugged next to the pet's normal water bowl with water in it for at least a week. Then plug in the Pet Fountain. If the pet hesitates to approach the unit, place bits of food or their favorite treats on the rim. This will encourage your pet to approach and drink. As they become used to the Pet Fountain, remove the normal water bowl, leaving only the Pet Fountain to drink from.

Warranted for one year from date of retail purchase against defects in material and workmanship. Solely for the benefit of the original consumer purchaser. Retain your dated sales receipt as proof of purchase.

Covered: Replacement of defective parts and labor, and product return to consumer.

Not Covered: Damages caused by abuse or failure to perform normal maintenance. Any other expense. This warranty shall not apply to any defect, malfunction or failure to conform with the warranty provision is caused by damage (not resulting from defect or malfunction) due to unreasonable use by the purchaser. This includes consequential damages, incidental damages, or incidental expenses, including damage to property. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights which may vary from state to state.

Qualification for Warranty Performance: Return product with proof of purchase and narrative description together with your name and address, freight prepaid, to Doskocil Manufacturing Company Inc., Warranty Division, 4209 Barnett Blvd., Arlington, Texas USA 76017. This product will be repaired or replaced at Doskocil's option and will be returned to you, postage prepaid, as soon as practicable, but in no event later than 45 days after received by Doskocil.
