Directions- Remove from package and hold by metal d-ring. When connected properly, the ring will be visible and accessible on the dog's back.
- Disconnect the plastic buckles. Place the d-ring assembly on the dog's back at the base of the neck. The two-inch non-padded loop faces the dog's tail.
- The dog's front left leg will go between the two one-inch webbing straps and the padded strap.
- Center the padded section in the middle of the dog's chest.
- Wrap the front strap up and around the front of the dog's right leg, adjust for a comfortable fit and connect the buckle.
- Wrap the bottom strap behind the dog's front right leg, up and around the dog's rib cage. Adjust for a comfortable fit and connect the buckle.
The Canine Seat Belt is now ready for use as a vehicle restraint or a walking harness. To use as a walking harness, attach your leash to the d-ring on the pet's back. To use as a car restraint, place dog in the back seat (the safest location to ride). Slip the seat belt through the two-inch non-padded loop and connect. This can be used either with a shoulder or lap seat belt.
The first step in using the Canine Seat Belt is getting your pet used to wearing it. Put the harness on your pet, adjust to a comfortable fit and let him wear it around the house. The next time you take your pet for a ride, fasten your car's seat belt through the large harness webbing loop.
For the safest ride, always put your pet in the back seat of your car. The back center seat is the safest possible position in your car for your pet.
Remember, your Canine Seat Belt can also be used as a walking harness. Just attach your Aspen Pet Products leash to the large metal d-ring, and off you go.
Warning: Do not leave your pet unattended. Remember the temperature in a car can raise very quickly. Always make sure your pet has proper ventilation whenever you take him on trips.
