Cats living exclusively indoors have a sedentary lifestyle and may take limited exercise (with a higher risk of obesity) than those having access to the outside. That is why they have lower energy requirements. Optimal calorie control: Provide an ideal balance between the food's energy supply and your cat's energy expenditure, in relation to its lifestyle and level of activty. The lifestyle of the indoor cat, sheltered from temperature and variations and changes in day length, disrupts the natural seasonal cycle of fur growth, so that it moults or sheds almost continuously. This aggravates the problem of swallowing hair during grooming and this hair has to be eliminated to prevent formation of hairballs.
