This high-energy scientifically developed food has been developed to attract hummingbirds to your feeder. Original Instant Nectar for Hummingbirds. Place one heaping teaspoon of Perky-Pet Instant Nectar for every two ounces of feeder capacity, in a suitable container. Add the feeder bottle full of water and stir until completely dissolved. No boiling needed. To mix for future use, add the entire package contents to six cups of water. Refrigerate and store in a covered container.

Nectar strength may be increased by one and half if desired. A higher sugar content will allow hummingbirds to feed less often and your feeder will require fewer fillings. When refilling your feeder, discard any leftover nectar and then thoroughly clean your feeder. Clean your feeder at least once a week during cool months, and at least twice a week during the warmer months. If extra cleaning is required, use a warm, vinegar and water solution. Keep your feeder filled. Finding an empty feeder may break a bird's use pattern. For the welfare of migrating hummingbirds, it is important to keep fresh nectar in feeder (s) for at least one week after the last bird has been seen feeding.
