The Zoo Med Repti Shelter 3 in 1 Cave is a unique, naturalistic hide cave that also functions as a shedding and egg-laying chamber. Many reptiles and amphibians suffer from a lack of humidity in captivity, which can lead to shedding and respiratory disorders. The Repti Shelter 3-in-1 cave corrects this problem by creating a humid microclimate within the terrarium, similar to what they would find in burrows, or under rocks and logs in nature. By adding the appropriate substrate to the 3-in-1 tray, you can provide the ideal environment for shedding and egg-laying. Providing a proper nesting site can help prevent against egg-binding, a dangerous condition in which the reptile is unable to lay her ages. Great for all medium size lizards and snakes.

Instructions: Remove from packaging, and clean the Repti Shelter using Zoo Med's Wipe Out 2 cage furniture disinfectant, or by washing with dish soap and warm water. After drying with a clean towel, place the Cave inside the terrarium. Do not place the ReptiShelter directly under or over any terrarium heat source. To create a humid "microclimate," place moistened Zoo Med Terrarium Moss or Eco Earth in the bottom tray of the Cave and replace lid. Maintain the proper humidity level by periodically misting the substrate. The 3-in-1 Cave may be used dry by placing tha appropriate terrarium substrate into the bottom tray of the cave and replacing the lid. To use the Cave as an egg-laying chamber, place moistened vermiculite into the bottom tray of the Cave and replace the lid. Periodically check the Cave for eggs by lifting the lid and inspecting the contents. Cleaning Periodically clean your 3-in-1 Cave by removing it from the terrarium, discarding soiled substrate, and disinfecting using Zoo Med's Wipe Out 2 Cage furniture Disinfectant. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean towel. Return the 3-in-1 Cave to terrarium and refill Cave bottom with appropriate substrate.
