Directions: Poodles - Dead hair does not readily fall out of their coats. That's why it is important that poodles be brushed two or three times a week. Their coats should be brushed to the skin to avoid deep matting. Terriers- (West Highland White, Airedale, miniature schnauzer, wire fox, cairn, kerry blue) First brush in the direction of hair growth, then against it to remove mats and tangles. Dogs with Long Flowing Coats -(Lhasa apso, Afghan, Irish setter, etc.) Brush in the direction of hair growth, parting the layers. Use a light stroke which goes beyond the end of the hair to avoid breakage. Dogs with Harsh Outer Coats & Soft Wooly Undercoats - (Sheepdogs, collies, shepherds, etc.) Working on a small section at a time, part the hair to the skin and brush in the direction of hair growth. It is important to use a light stroke so that no too much undercoat is removed. Cats - To prevent hairballs, short-haired cats need to be brushed every few days. Long-Haired cats should be brushed daily, especially during shedding periods. Using short light strokes, brush the coat against the direction of hair growth.
