Application: For newly constructed garden ponds ideally introduce Algo Clear Active Sticks into the pond in the first few days. To ensure clear water, evenly sprinkle two handfuls per 250 gallons into the pond, repeating every four to six weeks. For particularly green water, use twice the regular amount. After one to two weeks the water becomes much clearer. A slight clouding of the water at the beginning of the treatment is completely normal, and clears away after a few days.
Tip: General recommendation. To combat algae, introduce water plants as natural feeding competitors, and keep about 1/4 of the pond in the shade. Also, use lower nutrient fish feeds in the summer, such as Pond Balance, to maintain the ecological equilibrium of the pond. Good ventilation and filtration of the pond is essential for larger fish stocks.
