The Strong Silent Type. - Full two year warranty
- Same quality and performance of an external power filter
- Designed to be discrete for a clear view of your aquarium
- Space saving-aquarium can be flush to wall
- Powerful 125 GPH submerged motor has hardly any sound
- Clean, clear water from efficient 3-stage filtration.
Three Filters in One. The Whisper in-tank filter adjusts easily to high or low water levels with mounting suction cups and/or bracket. - Mechanical Filter. The Bio-Bag uses dual-sided mesh to catch debris and waste.
- Chemical Filter. Ultra-activated carbon removes odors and discoloration better than competing cartridges
- Biological Filter. Bio-foam creats a large, three-dimensional site for cultivating aerobic bacteria, which eliminates toxic ammonia and nitrites.
It's what's inside that counts. The virtually silent submerged motor gives you power filter performance inside your aquarium. 1. Filter pulls water from the tank and pushes it up through the filter cartridge. 2. Dense mesh catches debris and waste. 3. Ultra-activated carbon absorbs odors and discoloration. 4. Bio-foam cultivates aerobic bacteria, which eliminiate toxic ammonia and nitrites before water cascades back into aquarium.
As versatile as it is powerful. The whisper in-tank filter works in as little as 2 inches of water, making it ideal for low water level environments like viquariums for turtles, newts or frogs.
Working hard behind the scenes. Install the whisper in-tank filter on the back wall of your tank. Unlike conventional filters, its small size makes it easy to hide with a plant or other decorative object. From the front, it's practically invisible.

Read and Follow All Safety InstructionsInstalling the Pump and Filter
- Lift the filter cover. Rinse the tap water and insert the filter cartridge.
- Connect the airline tubing to the filter’s diffuse and Air Pump.
- Install the filter inside the aquarium by pressing the suction cups against the aquarium glass. (Note: The spillway of the filter should be at the water level in the aquarium, and the diffuser should be at least one inch above the aquarium gravel.)
- To prevent water from siphoning from the tank to the Air Pump, place the pump securely on a shelf higher than the water level in the aquarium. Do not place the Air Pump directly above the aquarium where it may fall into the aquarium. To place the pump on a surface lower than the water level of the aquarium, install a check valve (sold separately) on the tube between the aquarium and the Air Pump. Note: The check-valve should be attached close to the air pump nozzle. The check valve prevents water from siphoning into your Air Pump in case of an electrical power failure.
- Plug the Air Pump creating a drip loop in the power cord and airline tubing.
Maintaining the Pump and Filter
- The filter cartridge should be replaced every two weeks (or as needed). To change cartridge, unplug the Air Pump to stop the water flow, remove and replace the cartridge, then re-plug the Air Pump.
- Remove the filter cartridge when medicating fish, as it absorbs most medications.
- Clean the outside of the Air Pump with a damp cloth. When cleaning the filter and Air Pump, unplug the Air Pump. Do not use detergents or soap, as residue may be harmful to fish.

Important Safety Instructions. Read and follow all safety instructions Danger. Special care should be taken to avoid possible electric shock, since water is employed in the use of aquarium equipment. Do not attempt any repairs by yourself; return the appliance to an authorized service facility for service or discard the applianc. Warning: To guard against injury, observe basic safety precautions, including the following: 1. If the appliance shows any sign of abnormal water leakage, immediately unplug it from the power source. 2. Carefully examine the appliance after installation. Unplug the appliance if there is water on parts not intended to get wet. 3. Do not operate any appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it is malfunctioning, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any manner. 4. To avoid getting the appliance plug or receptacle wet, position the aquarium to the sid eof a wall-mounted outlet in order to prevent waer from dripping into the plug or outlet. Arrange a "drip loop" for each cord connecting an aquarium appliance to an outlet. (See Illustration A) The "drip loop" is the part of the cord beolow the level of the outlet (or if using an extension cord, below the level of the connector) that prevents water from traveling along the cord and coming in contact with the outlet. 5. If the plug or outlet should get wet, don't unplug the cord. Disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the appliance. Once the water has been disconnected, unplug the cord and examine it for the presence of water in the outlet. 6. Always unplug the appliance from an outlet when it is not in use. Also unplug it before cleaning, and prior to disconnecting or attaching parts. Never yank the cord to pull the plug from the outlet. Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect. 7. Do not use an appliance for anything other than its intended use. Do not use attachments that are not recommended or sold by the manufacturer; they may cause an unsafe condition. 8. Do not install or store the appliance where it will be exposed to the weather or to temperatures below freezing. 9. Make sure the appliance is securely installed before operating it. 10. If an extenstion cord is necessary, use a cord with a rating that matches or exceeds the rating of the appliance. A cord rated for fewer amperes or watts than the appliance rating may overheat. Arrange the cord so that it will not trip anybody, and that it will not be pulled in any way. 11. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use with an extension cord unless the plug can be fully inserted. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. 12. To avoid injry, do not touch moving parts. 13. Supervise children closely when they are near or using the appliance.
Installing the internal filter. 1. Insert the filter cartridge and foam grid as shown. (Note: The front of the foam grid is marked "front" and should face the front of the internal filter.) 2. Hange the internal filter inside the aquarium and pres the suction cup against the aquarium glass. Drape wire over the aquarium wall. 3. The lip of the internal filter should be above water level, and the bottom of ther internal filter should be at least one inch above the aquarium gravel. When positioning plants and other items, leave about a 1/2 inch clearance around the internal filter. 4. Raise or lower the internal filter by adjusting the filter hanger. Rotate the filter hanger 90 degrees, remove it, and replace it in an alternate alignment hold. (In turle tanks, the bottom of the internal filter should be submerged in at least 2 inches of water.) 5. If the filter hanger does not fit on the aquarium frame, it can be replaced with an extra suction cup (provided). When pressed firmly, the suction cup will fit snugly into the filter.
Helpful Hints: *When cleaning the internal filter, unplug the unit. Do not use detergents or soap, as residue may be harmful to fish. * It is not recommended to put sand in the aquarium when using the internal filter. * If the foam grid becomes clogged, remove and wash with water until debris is removed. *The filter cartridge should be replaced every four weeks. To change filter, unplug the internal filter, remove and replace the cartridge, then re-plug the internal filter. *When medicating fish, remove the filter cartridge, as it absorbs most medications. *If the motor is noisy, unplug the internal filter and remove it from the aquarium. Remove motor, open it cover, and flush gravel, leaves, or other debris with cool water. Replace the motor into the internal filter, mount the internal filter in the aquarium, and re-plug the unit. (See Illustration B.) *It takes a few weeks for new aquarium water to be conditioned. You can use EasyBalance to speed up conditioning. During the conditioning period, feed fish lightly and be sure all food is consumed. *When putting tap water into the aquarium, add AquaSafet water conditioner in order to nuetralize harmful chlorine and chloramines.
