Feeding Instructions
It is more economical for you, and better for your dog, if you feed this diet dry. If you do moisten it, use warm water. Never use hot water and never place in a microwave as it will destroy the beneficial microorganisms.
For pet owners who wish to include an extra touch, add Eagle Pack canned food.
Remember to keep fresh water available at all times. Wash water and food bowls daily. Do not overfeed.
Puppies: Three to four weeks of age, soften with water for one hour or longer. Feed a few pieces to each puppy two to three times daily, gradually increasing the amount fed, and reducing the soaking, until puppy is weaned. From weaning through four months, feed approximately the amount shown three times a day. From six to 12 months, feed amount shown, two times a day. Pups will normally eat the amount required for growth and development within 20 minutes; remove uneaten food if desired. After 12 months of age, feed amount shown under Adult column.
Large Breed Dogs: Eagle Pet Products recommends feeding a diet with a reduced protein level, either Eagle Pack Adult Formula or Eagle Pack Natural Formula from weaning through maturity or Premium Select from six months through maturity.
Pregnant Females: Feed Adult Formula, Puppy, or Power Formula. Feed 50 percent more than normal during the last three weeks of pregnancy. After birth, feed two to three times as much, until pups are weaned. If female is reluctant to eat in the days following birth, add 1/4 - 1/2 can of Eagle Pack Natural canned food to the dry diet.
