Fitting a Pet Door is Quick and Easy
If you are concerned about fitting a pet door--don't worry, you do not need to be an expert! All Staywell pet doors are designed to make installation quick and easy with the minimum of effort. Full details of tools required and simple to follow instructions are enclosed with every pet door.
Staywell pet doors fit the following:
- Metal and wood doors
- Glass
- Screen doors

- Sliding doors

It is recommended that pet doors which require installation into glass should be fitted by a glazier.
The 300, 400, 500 series and the 919 may be fitted with detachable tunnel sections allowing them to be installed anywhere from glass to thick walls. Extra tunnel sections are available from Staywell or your local stockist.
The 600, 800 series and the 917 and 932 have adjustable fixed tunnel sections allowing them to be fitted to most depths of door.
The 700 series are designed to fit into wall and doors but not glass. Two special fitting models, 700 for screen doors and the 710 for glass are available.
The 200 series are designed with a slim profile for sliding doors and will fit both glass and wood.

Sizes: First, measure the shoulder width of your pet to determine which sizes of door in our range are suitable for your pet. Choose from either small, medium, large or extra large sizes.
Security: Next, decide on the level of security and control you will require.
An Original pet door with an unbreakable tough polypropylene security barrier or a sturdy aluminum pet door with a metal locking barrier?
Or a 4 Way Locking pet door which allows you to control your pet's access--in only, out only, opened, locked.
Or one of the special models that allows your pet access with a magnetic collar key preventing stray pets from entering your home.
Or an Infra-Red model that has special coded keys allowing only your pet to enter the home--the ultimate in security.
Fittings: Staywell's extensive range enables a pet door to be fitted almost anywhere--through doors, windows and walls. Just decide which area of your home your pet should have access to e.g. house, garage, outbuilding etc. then go ahead and install one. Tunnel extensions can be attached to some pet doors to enable fitting through almost any depth of wall or door. Staywell has pet doors specially designed for screen and glass fitting but Staywell does not recommend that the larger sizes are fitted into glass.
Colors: Finally, now that you have selected the size of door, the security locking system, and the type of fitting, you need to choose which color and flap finish will suit your home from the choices available.
