Each order of Waxworms comes with detailed care instructions. Please read and follow these simple instructions – because a healthy worm is a tasty worm! During cold weather, your Waxworms are shipped in special winter boxes to ensure live delivery. Care Instructions
Your Waxworms are shipped in a box containing egg crate. The worms should be transferred to a plastic container. Drill a liberal number of holes in the lid of the container, and fill it with about 1” of mealworm bedding or pine shavings. Add your worms, and then layer another 1” of bedding over the top. Waxworms can be stored for a couple of weeks at 55 degrees. The ideal place for them is in the butter tray of your refrigerator – it stays just warm enough there! If this isn’t possible, then it’s better to keep them at room temperature with low humidity than it is to store them in a refrigerator that is colder than 40 degrees.
Waxworms have entered a stage in their life cycle where they will no longer consume food. They are living off the fat supplies in their bodies, so the longer they live, the smaller they will become. Remove any dead (black) Waxworms from your container as you keep them.
Your order is guaranteed to arrive alive, correct and complete -- 100% satisfaction guaranteed! Waxworm orders are covered by a 72-hour health guarantee. If for any reason, you’re not completely satisfied, contact us at 1-800-423-2248 to receive a replacement or refund. In order for the Live Delivery Guarantee to be in effect, someone must be at the receiving address to accept and sign for the delivery.
