The AquaGenesis RoboSnail Automated Aquarium Glass Cleaner helps prevents algae build up on the aquarium's surface. This is accomplished by the RoboSnail's unique ability to clean the aquarium's surface once a day without user intervention. At first, the algae is almost invisible. But as it builds up on the aquarium's surface over time, it progressively becomes more difficult to remove. Long periods of neglect results in stubborn coralline algae found in marine tanks, or a hazy, unsightly build up that can be found in all aquariums. Since more effort is needed to remove algae, the result can scratch the aquarium and lead to longer, more difficult maintenance sessions. The AquaGenesis RoboSnail Automated Aquarium Glass Cleaner can sense the aquarium's top, left, and right edges to calculate the appropriate cleaning pattern so the entire surface is cleaned. It commits to memory the edge locations and respective distances and begins its cleaning cycle. The RoboSnail performs this sequence and calculates each cleaning cycle to ensure complete aquarium cleaning. Battery used: NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargeable 2/3 AAA size 700mAh 4.8V dc.
Prior to initial use there are just a few simple steps you will go through:
1. Install the docking station with guide arms on the aquarium.
2. Fully charge the battery pack before use.
3. Program RoboSnail.
4. Start your RoboSnail to conduct a manual cleaning or simply wait for the 24-hour count-down cycle to complete for initial automatic cleaning.
Refer to following table, choose proper glass thickness setting before mounting RoboSnail onto dry side of glass. Default setting is mode 3 for 10mm thick aquarium glass. Mode 4 of setting is reserved for future use. Stock aquarium range: 0.25" (6mm) to 0.40" (10mm) glass thickness.

Settings are a guide. Use a ruler to measure glass thickness of your aquarium, or contact your aquarium manufacturer for details. Once you've determined the thickness of your aquarium glass, set the glass variance switch to match the thickness or approximate range of thickness. Maximum glass pane thickness should not exceed 0.40" (10mm) glass thickness. Note: Operating in excess of defined parameters may cause inconsistent performance or damage of the unit.
