Rainbow Green Nape Lory

Rainbow Green Nape Lories get their name from their beautiful, striking colors and markings. If that'is not enough to get your attention, their clownish personalities definitely will! Rainbow Green Nape Lories require a habitat that is at least 30" x 30" and they use every inch of that space to climb, roll around, hang upside down, and just plain goof off! Their diet, which consists of a lot of nectar and fruits in addition to their pellets and veggies, produces very messy, sometimes watery stools. Cage guards can help contain the mess, but some Lories like to shoot their feces while hanging on the side of the cage, so be sure to clean the area surrounding their cage daily. Lories make up for the additional maintenance with their curious and comical personalities. They are extremely playful and love toys that make noise or can be taken apart. Like other hand-fed birds, they thrive on daily interaction with their pet parent, but their entertaining personalities will make the time fly!
