Red Legged Walking Frog

Red Legged Walking Frogs make great pets due to their ease of care. Their name comes from the red coloring on the underside of their legs. These frogs can be kept in relatively small habitats. A 10-gallon terrarium can house 2 of these frogs. They should be kept at a fairly high humidity level with plenty of décor for climbing and hiding, which they will do most of the day as a nocturnal species.

Please note: It is important to wash your hands before and after holding or interacting with a frog. This important for their safety and yours.

Wearing latex gloves while handling amphibians will not only protect you from salmonella and other potential toxins secreted by the amphibian, it also protects the amphibian from any oils, salts, lotions, or perfumes on your hand. Gloves should be worn every time you handle your pet amphibian. Washing your hands before and after will also help prevent the potential to spread diseases such as salmonella, of which all amphibians are potential carriers.
