Hermit Crab

Hermit Crabs have been popular pets for many years; most commonly owned by children. Their ease of care and minimal cost has always made them a popular (first) pet. Traditionally, Hermit Crabs have served as gateway pets to owning other reptiles. Hermit Crabs come from tropical locations in different parts of the world and require a humidity level of at least 65% to be maintained to keep them healthy. They can be kept on sand, which is available in a variety of exciting colors, but mixing in coconut fiber will keep humidity levels up in the habitat. Sand is one of the many fun, colorful and tropical themed supplies offered for Hermit Crabs. In addition, a variety of fancy painted shells are available, making the Hermit Crab a fun pet & providing endless options!

Please note: Hermit Crabs require both fresh AND salt water. The fresh water is to drink and the salt water is for moistening their gills. Be sure your habitat has both of these available at all times.
