Bumble Bee Toad

Bumble Bee Toads are very small black toads with bright yellow polka dots and bright red toes. These toads do not require a lot of space and 3 or 4 can easily be kept together in a 10-gallon terrarium. They like to hide a lot so when housing together, be sure to provide mulitple hiding places. Bumble Bee Toads live in a high humidity environment and should be kept on a mulch-type substrate with moss to hold in the moisture. A large, easily accessible water dish should also be provided for them. You will often see them gathering together in or around the water dish.

Please note: It is important to wash your hands before and after holding or interacting with a toad. This important for their safety and yours.

Wearing latex gloves while handling amphibians will not only protect you from salmonella and other potential toxins secreted by the amphibian, it also protects the amphibian from any oils, salts, lotions, or perfumes on your hand. Gloves should be worn every time you handle your pet amphibian. Washing your hands before and after will also help prevent the potential to spread diseases such as salmonella, of which all amphibians are potential carriers.
