Bearded Dragon

Bearded Dragons are arguably the most popular pet reptile, especially for new reptile owners. While their care is not as much as, say, a dog or a hamster, there are specific habitat and dietary requirements that are crucial to their success. Their curious and social personalities make them a great pet to interact with, whether young or old. Juvenile Bearded Dragons can be kept in a 10-gallon or a 20L habitat successfully for a short time as they grow. An adult Bearded Dragon should not be kept in less than a 40-gallon or similar sized habitat, allowing them enough space for activity and exercise. Bearded Dragons may bask with their mouths open when they are too hot to allow their body temperatures to cool down, similar to a dog panting. Nighttime temperatures should never drop below 68 degrees, and babies should always be kept over 72 degrees. Bearded Dragons are also an incredible pet because of their bonding ability and docile nature. It is not uncommon to see a Bearded Dragon hanging out on someone’s shoulder, perfectly content. This reptile is great for anyone looking to enter the hobby!
