Blastomussa wellsi (Aquacultured A&M)

Also known as a Pineapple Coral or Swollen Brain Coral.

This is a very hardy large polyp stony (LPS) coral that is slow growing, generally peaceful, and has unique color looking very similar to the Caulastrea furcata. It will open up best under slow water flow and moderate lighting. This coral has feeding tentacles capable of stinging nearby coral, so adequate spacing should be provided when placing next to other coral. Blastomussa Wellsi is capable of eating prey items as large as mysis shrimp and will benefit from frequent feedings. Benefits from the addition of trace elements strontium and calcium. It is also important to maintain stable alkalinity and magnesium levels.
