Bicolor Foxface

Rabbitfish are known for their algae eating capabilities even consuming some nuisance algae like hair and valonia.  The Bicolor Foxface, also known as Fiji Foxface, are generally a peaceful species except towards other rabbitfish. Considered reef safe but if not well fed they can nip and consume various soft and large polyp stony corals. Plenty of hiding places should be provided.

The spines on the dorsal and anal fins of the Bicolor Foxface are venomous and caution is a must when handling. The likelihood of a sting is a very uncommon event, but should not be taken lightly. Although the venom is stronger than a bee sting, every person reacts differently to the venom. Be sure to remove any broken spines if necessary. It is highly recommended to get medical treatment even after soaking the affected area.
