Blueface Angel

Also known as the Yellowmask Angelfish, Yellowface Angelfish, Poisson-ange à front jaune (Maldives - French), Kukuraa kokaa (Maldives - Maldivian), Paru-parang dagat (Philippines), Adeyakko (Japan), and Taring pelandok (Malaysia).

This species is found in dense coral areas in the wild, often found near caves. The Blueface Angel is not the best reef tank inhabitant, but may be added with care. Stony and soft corals often end up being nipped at by this Angel. Clam mantles tend to be picked at as well. Blueface Angels do best as the largest fish in a tank and as the only Angelfish. Found in the wild at depths of 15 feet to 75 feet including reef slopes.

Adults look drastically different in coloration and pattern than juveniles. Young Blueface Angels are black with blue and white vertical stripes, while adults are yellow with blue scales, a blue face with a yellow mask around its eyes, and a hint of blue at the edges of its fins.
