Our Purina ONE Smartblend Chicken & Rice Formula Dog Food is inspired by the science in nature, discovering the power of smart ingredients that work together for your adult dog's whole body health. Featuring real chicken as our first ingredient. It's tastefully rich in protein. And just like puzzle pieces that fit perfectly together, chicken blends with grains and other ingredients to create a complete protein profile. This smart food also boasts a dual defense antioxidant blend. One that works inside and out. It's probably not something your dog thinks about, but this SMARTBLEND is working around the clock. It starts with a dual defense antioxidant blend of Vitamins E & A along with minerals zinc and selenium in a 100% complete diet for your adult dog. Together, they make a healthy difference on the inside by supporting your dog's strong immune system and on the outside by supporting healthy skin and a radiant coat.

The recommended feeding amounts are based on the average nutritional needs of an adult dog with normal activity (use a standard 8 oz. measuring cuptotoapproximately 112g of product). Factors such as a dog's metabolism, breed size, activity level, age, and whether the dog is spayed or neutered will affect the amount of Purina ONE needed to maintain an ideal body condition. The pet experts at Purina have provided the feeding amounts as a starting point. If you find that your dog is losing weight or becomes overweight when fed these amounts, please adjust accordingly. To help your dog maintain an ideal body condition, monitor your dog's weight on a regular basis, making sure that his ribs are easily felt and his waist is visible when viewed from above. Maintaining an ideal body condition can impact his lifelong health.
Switching to Purina ONE: It's best to accustom your dog to a new diet over a seven to ten day period. To begin feeding Purina ONE, slowly decrease your dog's current food while adding increasing amounts of Purina ONE, unless your veterinarian advises otherwise.
Weaning Pups: Start puppies on moistened Purina ONE as early as they will nibble at solid foods, generally three to four weeks of age. Feed pups (to six months of age) all of the moistened or dry Purina ONE they will consume at intervals throughout the day. If fed dry, this formula may be kept before pups at all times.
Feeding for Reproduction: Purina ONE Chicken & Rice Formula provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female's good body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation.
Purina ONE can be fed dry or mixed with water. If mixed, the manufacturer suggests one part liquid to four parts Purina ONE. There is no need to add vitamins, minerals, or other supplements to Purina ONE, unless specifically directed by a veterinarian. A dog's digestive system works best when it receives the same food each day. Although humans crave variety in their diets, dogs do not. Feeding different dog foods can turn your dog into a finicky eater. Avoid feeding table scraps, as they can upset the nutrient balance provided by your dog's regular food and may lead to obesity. The best way to feed your dog is to feed only one dog food each and every day. Always provide an adequate supply of fresh water in a clean container each day.
Animal feeding tests using Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) procedures substantiate that Purina ONE Chicken & Rice Formula provides complete and balanced nutrition for all life stages. Proper diet, exercise, and regular veterinary care are the best ways to keep your pet healthy. If your dog has not had a veterinary checktoup in the past 12 months, please make an appointment today.
