The Console Lookout is designed for small pets up to four pounds that ride up front with their masters and sit in a safe position on the car's console between the passenger and the driver. This lets the pet see out of the car's window while tied with the supplied safety strap that attaches the pet, via its harness, to the Lookout. The Lookout is, in turn, secured to the car's console, protecting your pet in case of an accident or abrupt braking. It is fastened to the car in the following manner.Installation
First there are two straps supplied that will become attached to the front driver's seat and the passenger seat. These straps, called a seat strap, go through the front seats between the upper back and lower seat cushions and come around the metal support of the upper seat back on the side of the console. They have a buckle attached so when fastened the strap becomes a loop and has excess material for adjustment. These seat straps will become permanent for ease of installation and removal of the Lookout.
The Lookout seat has a containment strap going through the rear of the Lookout seat with a loop on both ends.
The Lookout seat is placed on the console so the foam projection is to the rear and up against the console preventing it from going forward.
Open the buckle on the looped seat strap that now goes through the seat and slide the loop from the Lookout's containment strap over this strap and reconnect the seat strap buckle. Do this on both sides of the console and tighten the seat strap so that it will pull the Lookout tight to the console.
Your pet should be in a walking harness.
The security strap supplied goes around the containment strap by releasing the buckle on the security harness, placing it around the containment strap and re-attaching it. The silver harness hook goes around the d-ring in your pet's harness. For safety in an accident, do not attach the harness to your pet's collar. Enjoy your ride.
To remove the Lookout, simply release the seat buckle, slip out the Lookout containment strap and refasten the seat strap buckle so it will be ready for the next trip.
Washing Instructions: Remove the slip on cover, machine wash warm with no bleach and machine dry. Do not over dry, removing promptly.
